about

*note- genre tags other than bridgestyle being used are influences or similar themed genres rather than what i am directly playing since this is a new genre technically

PART 2- i decide to just have fun and be tongue in cheek and make some fun weird pointless music and give up on my worries for a moment

i'm starting a new genre of music
its called bridge
who wants to join me?
basically the rules for bridge music are
*if you dont feel comfortable with your old scene because your being lumped in together with stuff you don't like because you are more eclectic
*or just specific
*you want to trade limitations for obscurity
*the modern contemporary version of the music "you used to like" doesn't sound like what you liked about the genre
*the general public associates the wrong stuff with the music genre you were into

well i say the general public\laymen are all casual music fans that have bad taste and i want to just be my self, if you don't like it its your fault so don't listen to my music and don't give me any money

then join me and be lumped together with a new group that you don't fit into

also i have bad taste in music... i found out about this in high school
sure in jr high school i thought i was just being retro and that modern music sucked but then most people around me all like the stuff i don't like and put down stuff i like, and then i realized i would rather listen to silly cheesy bad music than well produced technical musicianship good music because good music is not for me

most people in my generation like downtempo super chill carbient (car+ambient) music with a repetitive drum loop or a wall of distortion ballads
i'm giving up on fighting for what music should be
i'm saying you can keep your old genres i'm starting a new one
that way everyone can call their music their own

i'm leaving behind rock and pop and hip-hop and R&B and EDM
and focusing on developing this new style

it doesn't matter to me if you are just looking to play retro-futurist music without the constrains of which sub-genre of cyberpunk to be typecast as or if you really belong to the post-neo-progressive alternative indie outsider pop subgenre with a long chain of words to describe or you you play bugged music for the sake of being bugged, or if you were kicked out of your old genre for being a poseur even though you were being true to yourself, what ever just tag you music as bridge music and join my counter counter revolution against the mainstream and the alternative and together we will SUBVERT EVERY TROPE unless we don't feel like it. and even shatter the definitions of words used by hipsters and EVEN OVERTHROW THE CONCEPT OF SELLING OUT
because.. well if you want to be a professional music that means your day job is making popular songs so screw those older fans that only listen to your first album anyway, you're the one that decided to go along with the commercial direction so you didn't really sell out, plus you could always change your mind later and just PLAY WHAT EVER YOU WANT, i always prefered the SONG THAT BREAKTHROUGH BANDS PUT OUT FIRST and if they usually suck after that album because they had the DELUSION THAT EVERYTHING THEY MADE WAS GOOD
i have the opposite problem

I THINK THAT MY MUSIC SUCKS SO I MADE IT HARDER FOR PEOPLE TO FIND AND I HAVE NO IDEA OF KNOWING WHICH OF MY SONGS IS THE GOOD ONE, well some songs i record to be funny or to troll possible listeners. i have 2 main problems-confidence, and networking\people skills , i don't want to play any live music by myself
but i dont have anyone to play this music with so you have to look for it yourself

BUT HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN A BUNCH OF HIPSTERS ONLINE MAKING A MICROGENRE WITH NO ROOM FOR VARIATION?
1 there's just one of me
2 i'm very eclectic i'm basically playing progressive outsider pop.each of my songs is almost a different genres from each other
3 they(hipster micro-genre snobs) all sound the same, even when they use a new name most of those micro genres sound like each other its hard for outsiders to distinguish

eventually this style called bridge will filter out the older stuff and become its own thing
like how early jazz is a mixture of blues, ragtime, and marching band music,
or how rock and roll was jazz and folk and gospel and country elements mixed with R&B and\or blues
and tony Iommi invented heavy metal by mixing psychedelic rock and blues rock and detuning the strings to make it easier to play with his hand injury
or how the ramones are just playing uptempo oldies music with distortion
drum and bass is just a more moderate tempo robotic commercial offshoot of jungle which is just a collection of remixes of ah-men brother by the Winstons

everything old becomes new again if you add a new twist
people can't tell the difference
if you go back far enough it leads to the same sources

basically what the CONCEPT for this ep series is that
each of the 4 is a hybrid of PROTO-BRIDGESTYLE mixed with 1) old-school (pregrunge) rock music 2) piano rock and electropop, 3)heavy metal\distorted guitar music 4) alternative rap and electro

and eventually true bridgestyle music will emerge by filtering out the stuff in hip hop, rock, metal, and synthpop and edm that define those genres

hopefully bridge will escape even me and once it does I WILL PLAGIARIZE ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WILL HAVE PLAGIARIZED ME

as you can hear from this ep alone i am sufficiently different enough to be hard to put into an established category since i have flavors of space rock breakcore hardstyle, rave, reggaeton, punk, prog, post-rock, retro-pop, and camp comedy featuring on this part 2/4 of a series of me officially christening a new genre along with subgenres for it
