about

*note- genre tags other than bridgestyle being used are influences or similar themed genres rather than what i am directly playing since this is a new genre technically

PART 1- i ponder whether i really play rock music or if i'm using the tag as a default. just in case of one way or the other i decide to lay the first cornerstone of a potential new direction in case anyone wants to follow while
i also slowly devolve into adult contemporary music due to getting old making your music suck

i decided to start my own genre "bridge" because i don't really have my own genre, yes i like all different types of rock music but i also like all different types of dance music, rnb music, pop music, heavy metal music, industrial music etc ...

so how is bridge music different from rock music? its not i'm just using the term as an excuse to do what ever i want, with for freedom but a bigger risk to never catch on and be obscure- because i wasn't into rock or hip hop in its contemporary forms i like the retro stuff even the cheezy stuff i like better because people try to avoid being cheezy by being bland. but I CANT JUST BE A RETRO ARTIST because clinging to the past has no room to grow im more RETRO-FUTURIST ART PUNK,
and if i self identify with rock music people will want me to play power ballads which i dont like at all,
basically i'm agreeing with both camps of this is not real rock music, and real rock music is dead, i'm just taking what i liked from the genre and mixing it with all the non-rock stuff i loved equally and using that as the base to build upon and experiment. but to a certain extent this specific ep is my specific subgenre of rock music that only i play that most likely wont catch on but anyone is free to plagerize or use the name bridge for their own specific genre of what ever

in my alternate history of music in which i play rock music instead of bridge music post-grunge and nu-metal never happened and stuff like latin freestyle and house music are considered offshoots of synthpop\new wave and are ergo considered rock-ish
also gabber caught on

i decided to make 4 eps of my styles seperated into 1"mostly rock" (which by other peoples standards may not really rock) people will probably put it down as a mixture of acoustic metalcore mixed with acoustic house music with amateur diy home recording quality and random hybrid styles thrown in and they would be right
i think i have a very 60s psychadelic pop quality to my voice when i sing

followed by a synthpop\piano rock ep as the 2nd one but its more diy art garage synth pop electropop with more spacey rave qualities than this one

the third one will be a distorted guitar album with a very psychobilly\horrorpunk\death rock\ proto-goth type of vibe mixed with stoner rock and doom metal and some other random heavy metal styles maybe psychadeic djent

the fourth one will be all bugged out trippy weird mindscrew cheesy funny dark depraved gothic industrial electro hip hop without being considered eligible to join any of those scenes separately but its basically rap and spoken word

why did i use the term bridge music as the name of my FUTURE music style that i'm trying to invent?
there is house, garage, rock, metal, street, urban, country, why not bridge?
plus bridges connect things together and there is water under the bridge so i'm saying i want to mix things together and have limitless possibility until the bridge collapses, and old rivalries i want to destroy them, i will gladly mix together boy band pop with death metal if for anything else just to screw with people, plus in japan they would do that anyway and i like j pop so there.

i had a hard time figuring out what tags to use, if i use the wrong ones people will think i'm a poseur, but in truth i had no genre before i am a music slut with a.d.d. and i finally picked one and i invite anyone to
join in but just know we will drag each other down by association so its better to not tag music as bridge

this ep is more FOLKTRONICORE\OLDIES 60S POP\POST-PUNK leaning and im rebelling against the post grunge power ballad status quo of modern rock thats been around for over 20 years directly insulting modern rock djs so that they wont ever play my music on their stations

TO JOIN ME IN MY QUEST TO INVENT THIS NEW GENRE AND TO GET IT PUBLICLY RECOGNIZED AS A GENRE SIMPLY TAG YOUR MUSIC AS BRIDGE-MUSIC AND\OR BRIDGESTYLE

FEEL FREE TO:
IF ITS MORE DISTORTED GUITAR BASED ADD BRIDGE METAL

IF ITS JUST TRIPPY AND MORE INDUSTRIAL OR RAPPED OVER ADD BUGGED

IF ITS MORE SYNTHESIZER BASED ADD BRIDGE WAVE

IF ITS CLEAN OR WET GUITAR ORIENTED AND RETRO EVEN IF IT USES DRUM MACHINES ADD BRIDGE ROCK

the way WE will develop this new genre is to use this new name as an excuse to escape your old genres and do what you want,
cross this bridge into new territory and be yourself
and make feel free to make music that i hate as long as its not post-grunge [where every song turns into a wall of distortion power ballad for the chorus] or chill out superbassy crunk rap that only sounds good when your "meditating" in your parked car,
the 2 main genres im reacting against

REMEMBER IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME WHETHER YOU COPY ME DIRECTLY OR IF YOU JUST USE THE TAG I CREATED WITHOUT SOUNDING ANYTHING LIKE ME OR CARING TO YOU ARE STILL HELPING ME INVENT THIS GENRE, YOUR NOT A POSEUR YOUR AN INNOVATOR

10

top reasons why my new genre should be called bridge music

1- it sounds like it was recorded under a bridge
2-starting a new genre of music is like trying to sell someone a bridge
3- bridges connect things together so you can make any hybrid you want and make friends with anyone,
4- bridge can mean anything because it doesn't mean anything
[unlimited possibility...... until you burn it down]
5- me and my sister listening to music whilst driving over a bridge decided to call it bridge music so bridge music already exists
[the specific song was: amber- this is your night]
6- i might just be trolling you- trolls live under a bridge
7- there can be water under the bridge so long rivalries ending means i mix things that usually dont mix
8- my critics will say it sounds like BM and i'll just say but it is bm!
9- bridges are made from ROCK and METAL and can be URBAN or RETRO or CONTEMPORARY or built in the COUNTRY, so its already musical
10- the term bridge wasn't being used,.... and post-rock was taken
