about

i wrote most of this music when i was depressed so its all introverted, the first half is all sappy depressing pop music where all the songs tell the same story, the second half is a bizzarre fantasy freakout music where each song tells a different story, musically it ranges with elements taken from everything including psychobilly, ska, jazz, metal, RNB, pop, acid rock, grunge, and folk rock

the second half was almost going to be a separate e.p. called fun INFESTivities and would have been just the last 6 songs which have a different vibe than the rest of the songs

i had a hard time figuring out what style to write in since i had grown up loving both oldies, classic rock and what ever danceable party music was popular but by highschool while most people my age i knew were into the current hip hop sound which was much slower and serious than the 90s stuff which i had dissacociated from by then, i started to get into the metalcore sound which was happening at the same time so my mind turned into a music blender and i decided to use oldies style rock and roll/rhythm and blues as a base and have each song i wrote have a different flavor added such as reggae or metal or rap. i wrote almost all of the trippier stuff at the same time after i got recording equipment and i wrote all the sappier stuff throughout highschool. in my mind i wanted to progress into more metallic stuff later on and get the sappiness and trippiness out of the way but i later grew out of the heavier stuff as well as the sappier stuff and simply wanted variety, which can be considered trippy if you have it all mixed together

around the same time i did compose a number of hard rock riffs which i wanted to save for recording in the context of a band where i would focus on rock riffs which i could not sing over and for this i used entirely chord progressions and maybe some riffs that were easy to sing over because it was meant to be stuff for singing over by myself, and it would just be solo stuff that i never intened to play when i was in a band. mostly because i wanted that band play some combination of grunge, classic rock, and metacore- of which this was deffinately not.

not all of the sappy songs are about the same woman... i'm a man ergo am naturally very amourous, ergo i get my heart broken very often,

songs with the best production: a friend of a friend;love is worse;brenda;13 was her lucky number;cosmic coniption fit.

songs with the worst production: cosmic coniption fit; do you remember, the thought of being with you;my delusion;unrequited love, i looked for you

music i listened to at the time of the writing: sarah maclachlain, chicago, nirvana, system of a down, neil young, shadows fall, nothingface, u2, metallica, the beatles, the rolling stones, talking heads, led zeppelin, creedence clearwater revival, diana ross and the supremes, marvin gaye, pink floyd, goo goo dolls, red hot chili peppers, muddy waters, charles mingus, the doors, the who, jethro tull, bob marley, elvis presley, yes, kansas, foreigner, boston, rush, the thompson twins, the darkness, dragon force, heart, sly and the family stone, black sabbath, the clash, rem, the allman brothers, tom petty, queen, marylin manson, guns and roses, blue oyser cult, shocking blue, golden earing, iron butterfly, jimi hendrix, deep purple, stevie ray vaughan, chuck berry, johnny winter, ludacris, khia, eminem, nas, . what ever was on q104.3, 103.5 ktu, or 101cbsfm at the time
